Transport & Equipment Maintenance Organization (TEMO), Mohakhali Dhaka
In the year of 1976 Transport & Equipment Maintenance Organization (TEMO) was established by the financial support of UNICEF and under the control of Director general of health services. TEMO took over the responsibilities of repair and maintenance of revenue based all type of vehicles under health services (From revenue budget)
2. Temo was brought under the control of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in year of 1980
3. In the year of 1982 organizational set-up of Temo was reduced abolishing some of its technical post by Enum committee.
WORK JURISDICTION
1.By the office order no. admn-2/transport-1/105/320 dated 8/3/05 issued from Ministry of Health maintenance work of vehicles are conducted by Temo.
2.According to this office order Temo carries out repair/maintenance work of revenue owned vehicles of different institution under DGHS within Dhaka city & close to Dhaka city.
3. Most of the vehicles of DGHS office are 25-30 years old. So these vehicle need frequent maintenance. Because of this maintenance cost of vehicles are increasing. Old vehicle should be replaced.
4. Repair and maintenance work of vehicles are carried out by 5 technical section of Temo. Out of five sections four section perform light & heavy repair of vehicles and another one section performs electrical work of vehicles. Each section consists of senior mechanic, junior mechanic & cleaner
5. Official activities of Temo is being audited internally by Ministry .Moreover National Audit Directorate audits Temo’s official activity regularly.
SUCCESS
1. A software has been developed to keep transparent maintenance record of vehicles, procurement and accounts statement with less effort.
2. A huge piece of occupied land surrounding Temo has been recovered from the land grabber and there plantation has been carried out.
